What a conversation can cover
Where does a conversation about a project start?
The starting point is a business goal, not a list of technologies: what should improve, for whom, and how it will be measured. The architecture and the technology stack are chosen only once the goal and the scope are settled.
How is the scope of the system settled?
Scope, price and deadline are agreed before the project starts, together with what the scope does not include. A boundary drawn at the beginning costs less than a surprise in the middle of the work.
Which technologies does the production experience cover?
The backend usually runs on Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript, data sits in a relational database through TypeORM, and infrastructure is described in Terraform and run in Docker. Integrations with language models are built around the Model Context Protocol. The stack for a given project follows its scale and requirements.
Is the project a new system or the modernisation of an existing one?
Telling a project from scratch apart from the modernisation or integration of an existing solution settles the scope, the risk and the cost at the start. An architecture review comes before the decision in both cases.
How does the scale of the system affect the architecture?
The architecture follows the scale of the process, not a technology fashion. A monolith with clear module boundaries is sometimes a better choice than microservices nobody will maintain later, and splitting into separate services makes sense only once there is a concrete reason to separate them.
Does the system depend on Silesian Solutions once a stage is delivered?
No. Code, tests and documentation stay with the client after every delivered stage, so any vendor can keep developing the system.
What engagement models are possible?
Fixed price works for a closed, self-contained scope, and time and materials where the work is continuous. The model follows the dynamics of the project and the range of responsibility, and technical advisory is sometimes a separate, short engagement.
What do integrations with other systems look like?
An integration usually breaks a few months after it goes live, when one system changes its data format and the other stays quiet about the failure. That is why retries, a queue of failed events and an alert on a stalled flow are designed together with the integration itself.
What does security and compliance cover?
GDPR requirements, WCAG accessibility and the security of the development process itself are turned into automatic gates in CI that stop the build when a requirement stops being met.
